A number of years ago I had the brilliant idea to register the domain “thereasonwitch.com”. I was in a flight of fancy, thinking what name I could use in some imaginary future to perhaps make blog posts or videos about things that interest me. I was delighted with my punny new name but didn’t really do much beyond register my domain along with getting a gmail address to reserve my future youtube name.

So why “the reason witch”? Well, I liked how it could be heard as “the reason which” which would lead into my tag line of “I question everything” thereby making it my mission statement - this will be about the reason which I question everything in my life and an explanation of how I got to where I am. The second, more surface reading of the name, the Reason Witch, I wanted to use as a way to develop of a platform that dialogues from the viewpoint that embraces the current feminist reclaiming of witches in the popular culture with the qualifier of "reason” to reflect my skepticism with pretty much everything presented to me, due to my life experiences, including the idea of witch craft as supernaturally oriented.

I don’t know, l was feeling clever? And so this idea has been percolating for a while, and since I already pay for and own a website on this handy squarespace site I thought why not actually use what I’m paying for and give it a go. It turns out it takes about 45 of self isolation / quarantine due to a global pandemic for me to get my shit together enough to make any efforts towards this lofty goal.

Let’s see how long it takes me to do more! Keep your expectations low like I am, I have other projects on the go that are equally amusing for me.
